Carpenter and dry liner in Cheddar, Somerset

I frame and board walls, hang doors and lay floors in Somerset houses. You get a written quote before I start, and the price on it is the price you pay.

How a job goes

Five steps, and you know where you stand at each one. Most of what people worry about with a tradesman happens in the gaps between them, so I keep the gaps short.

  1. 01You ring or send the formTell me the room and roughly what you want. I will say straight away whether it is a job for me.
  2. 02I come and measureUsually within a week. Half an hour in the room, and I tell you what I would do and what I would leave alone.
  3. 03The quote arrives in writingItemised, by email, within two days. The price does not move unless you change the job.
  4. 04We book a dateA start date and a realistic finish date, not a vague week. If something slips you hear it from me first.
  5. 05It is finished and cleared upDust sheets down every day, floors swept, waste taken away. You get the room back, not a tidy-up job.

Where I work

I work out of Cheddar, and most jobs are within half an hour of it: down through Sedgemoor and across the Levels, up onto the Mendips, and out to the coast at Burnham and Weston.

If you are further out than that, ring and ask anyway. I would rather tell you no on the phone than leave you waiting a week for a quote that was never coming.
